Solar Pump Testimonials

"Hi Brian,

I just received the solar pump package I ordered 2 days ago.

At first glance it was well packaged, and your attention and prompt delivery made this a very pleasant buying experience. The pump and controller look to be very high quality products, and were well packaged.

When I first looked at the size of the electric motor compared to the size of the pump housing I was a bit skeptical about its capabilities. That along with my lack of experience with commercially produced solar panels had me envisioning a very modest flow of water that would probably disappear every time a cloud came by. But what the heck, It would hopefully pump all day(10-12 Hrs), and it would be free. Besides that, I already paid for it, so I might as well use it.

Since I was unsure of the pumps performance I decided to test it before I actually permanently installed it in my filtering system. so, using some scrap PVC pipe and fittings I had, I set up the pump on the edge of the pool with a 1" suction pipe (reducing from the 2" inlet) and a 1' outlet with a 45 degree elbow to see how far it could squirt. I set it up with the 2 Trina Solar 230 Watt 24 Volt that I recently purchased, and went to bed awaiting sunrise. Now normally I get up around 10:00 AM, but I was like a 5 year old on X-mas eve. I barely slept, and at 6:00 AM I was outside waiting to see when it would start pumping.

I had the panels where they would get decent sun that early. Right off the bat - disappointment. Every time I turned the power switch on, the pump would start up, and after 30 seconds stop and the low level light would come on.

Now as we all know, real men toss the instruction manual the moment they find it. However after a good bit of looking for a solution I decided to break down and took the manual to the bathroom so my wife would not see me reading it. I figured out pretty quick that I had to put in the jumper wire to cancel the low water level switch. I think since you are selling pool pumps you should have this on the cover of the manual in huge red letters so real men like me would have a better chance to accidentally read it thereby reducing our frustration and the possibility of the wife finding out that we really are clueless most off the time.

Well by that time the sun had risen much higher and the palms were casting big time shadows on the panels so I moved them to a spot were they would get full sun light at least until 2:00 Pm. Ok, now I throw the switch, and the water starts flowing. Not impressive at first, but then it clears out the air in the housing, and its like the Turbo boost kicks in and a few seconds later it shifts in to overdrive and holy moly its shooting massive amounts of water almost halfway across the length of my pool. Awesome dude, that little motor rocks!

This pump has exceeded my expectations about five fold. And then I'm like WOW!!! I'm not using any electricity from the electric company. This thing is pumping insane volumes of water for FREE!!! Now a cloud comes by and it slows. but it only slowed a little bit. It was still pumping at least 60 %, and there wasn't enough light to cast a shadow. I figured it would stop flowing if there was no direct sunlight. I spent the rest of the day watching my pump spray water at no cost to me, and even though the panels were blocked from direct sun light after 2:15 PM. it kept pumping very decent volumes of water until about 5:30 PM when it stopped because it really was getting dark being under the palms and the sun about to set on the opposite side of the house.

I should have bought this pump a long time ago. Now my problem is that I will have to wait a few days before I actually install it on my filtering system because I have a bunch of friends that I want to show how well this system works. I had been thinking about a solar pump for about 2 years. If I had been able to see how well this solar pump performs back then I would have bought one and it would have already paid for itself. My estimated cost running my old pump is US$ 110.00 a month based on actual current measurements and 7 hrs a day use.

Buying this system is a no brainier. Anyone with a pool living on Aruba would be a fool to not invest in a Florida Solar Pump's pool pump system considering that we have almost guaranteed sunlight everyday at maximum brightness.

I'm sure you realize by now that I am very happy with my new toy, and you can be sure that it will be the topic of conversation for quite a while. I feel sorry for the old pump. Nobody ever cared about it.

Thanks again"

"I am very impressed with my new solar pool pump. It works just like advertised. It's quiet, powerful, it does not use any household electric and no pollution!

The work BSA Power Solutions performed was fantastic! I am very pleased with the results. They worked together as a team and before I knew it - I was on solar power the same day. They worked like it was a military campaign. Each person was assigned a task and it was executed swiftly without any problems to my knowledge. If there were any issues, Brian took care of it, but I did not have to worry about a thing.

There was a concern at first with the mounting of the roofing rack for the Solar Panels, but after the team explained how they would mount the racks to the truss beams with the special adhesive sealer around the brackets - I could see I would never have any leaks. When they finished, I could clearly see I would not have any problems.

I feel confident that my investment in the a Solar Pool Pump system would pay for itself over time and increase the value of my home as well.

I love not having to pay our electric company more money. I had a neighbor come over to my house and we looked at my electric meter. It was barely moving. We went back to his house and to check his meter. He had his pool pump on (no Air Conditioner running) and his meter was rapidly spinning. We turned off the pool pump and the meter almost stopped. It was running like my meter - very slowly. When we turned the pool pump back on, he saw the meter take off spinning - fast!

Thank you Brian for finding this product and offering it to us in South Florida - your solar expertise and the tremendous work ethic you and your staff possess made this project a true success."
